APA Prepares to Host 2017 Annual Meeting in San Diego

With an MD from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine, Dr. Randolph Baca serves as a staff psychiatrist for Lovelace Health Systems, which operates facilities in Albuquerque, Roswell, and Santa Fe, New Mexico. Alongside his work in areas around Albuquerque and Sante Fe, Dr. Randolph Baca maintains membership in organizations such as the American Psychiatric Association (APA).

In its efforts to keep members abreast of the latest research and developments in psychiatry, the APA holds a variety of regional and national events throughout the year. Currently, the organization is preparing to host its 2017 Annual Meeting May 20-24 in San Diego.

The five-day event will feature more than 450 educational sessions organized into several broad learning tracks, including addiction, forensic, and geriatric psychiatry. Additionally, the meeting will include learning labs and an innovation zone featuring the latest mental health technologies.

Outside of learning activities, attendees at the APA annual meeting will have the opportunity to explore an exhibit hall and take part in networking activities such as the APA Foundation Annual Benefit, which will be held at the San Diego Wine & Culinary Center. Additional information, including registration and housing details, can be found at www.psychiatry.org.
